 MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!!!!!

George IV "A" are officially the winter 2007-08 SLKPA Champions.

We finally made it over the finish line after bundling our way through Our Lady Of The Rosary 10-5 away.  Everyone on the night played very well but a special mention to our man of the match "Chewie" aka Gary Morrow, who put in an exceptional performance beating his opponent with one of the best tactical games I've seen in a long time.  Id like to take this moment in time to congratulate all the lads on what has been a cracking season throughout.  But without being greedy, there is just one more thing that would put the icing on our cake ! And that is the matter of the team Knockout. We're in the Semi - Finals against the Pickwick which will be played out of the Hotshots on the 13th of this month.  Its not gonna be easy, as we all know what the Pickwick are capable of, but lets get ourselves fired up and take out anyone who stands in our way.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! COME ON THE GEORGE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This weeks match against the kings arms was a very important week for the George IV after the Hotshots closing the gap to 5 points with their impressive win over the Jolly Fenman last week. The evening Got off to  flying start with the George Boys taking an 9-1 lead within the first two sets, With Mr Mallinder pulling out a great break and dish. And with the rest of the team producing some quality finishes. The final set saw "the Nudges" up first in full flow making effortless work of the clearance. With Adam, Naf, and Rob all contributing to the final score which was a good solid 13 - 2 result.

We have pretty much reached the light at the end of this long tunnel, Now its only Our Lady Of The Rosary that stand in our way from the SLKPA Purley Gates !!!!

Last Nights match saw our boys facing the sun in the sands B.We couldnt of asked for a better start going 4-0 up within no time at all, which set the pace for the evening. And by the end of the first half we had a nice lead at 5-2.  With every half chance made into a full one, the boys took 5 out of the remaining 6 frames, which ended the night with a much deserved victory 10-3. No Man of the Match this week as the whole team played out of their skins, All in all a great performance which needs to be taken to the Greenwich town social next week.

George IV A were back in action in the league this week against the summerfield after progressing to the cup semi-final beating lee Constitutional Club 8-1. After a stern team talk from the skipper about the league being in our own hands, the George got off to a shaky start going 1-0 down with an out of sorts Mallinder losing the opening frame.  With that, the boys then proceeded to produce some excellent clearances to win the next 9 frames in a row.  Complacency then set in with the match already won, with the final set going to our opponents 3-2, which took the final score to 11-4. The highlight of the night was Rob"the Sledge" Chalmers taking all 3 of his frames with the rest taking 2 a piece.

With the light at the end of the tunnel getting ever so closer, lets not have a blackout and throw all our hard work away !!!!!!!
